National Energy Commission to Take the Lead to Formulate National Energy Strategic Planning

Deputy director of the National Energy Administration Wu Yin recently revealed that the newly-established National energy commission will take the lead to formulate the national energy strategic planning to guide the medium and long-term development and construction of energy, with the time limit estimated to be more than 20 years.
The strategic planning will highlight the contents as follows: adjusting energy structure, encouraging diversified development of energy and raising the proportion of renewable energy; promoting energy conservation to raise energy efficiency; better integrating development and exploitation of domestic resources; advocating environmental protection; and encouraging international cooperation in the field of energy.
Wu also said that the newly-formulated Energy Law has been submitted to the State Council and listed the plan of relevant legislations. At the same time, the revision of Coal Law acting as sub-law of Energy Law will be carried out, followed by the formulation of Electricity Law and Petroleum and Gas Law.
